Wunder Wood 2019 is the University – Enterprise Collaboration Project organised by Fabbro Arredi in collaboration with Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera (Milan) and Faculty of Architecture of Ljubljana in designing an objet that draws its inspiration from the Wunderkammer.

The project was born with the aim of connecting university students to the productive reality in a training experience in which the students have the opportunity to develop integrative skills and abilities. It becomes an opportunity to share methodologies, means and values ​​between the artisan world and the university world in a production context where the ultimate goal is the search for new outlets in the furniture market.

 

Faculty coordinators

Alessio Princic

Alessio Princic was born in Udine on 9 March, 1958.In 1982 he graduated in Architecture at the University of Ljubljana (SLO), Faculty of Architecture. His graduation thesis on typology and identity of the village of Sclaunicco (“Tipologija in identiteta Slapnicka”) was awarded the “Preseren Students Prize”. From 1983 to 1992  he collaborated  with arch. Federico Marconi in Udine and arch. Pier Guido Fagnoni in Firenze, (ITA), obtaining in the meanwhile his Master’s Degree in Architecture, from the University of Venezia (ITA), Faculty of Architecture. In 1990 he started his own architecture firm in Udine and began working as a freelancer. He continued his studies at the University of Ljubljana obtaining his PhD from the Faculty of Architecture in 2000 where he later became assistant professor in 2005 and then associate professor in 2010. Since 2008 he has been Associate Professor of Architectural Project/ Design,  Architecture Faculty in Maribor (SLO) where he has obtained the professorship of architectural design studios for second and last year students. He is currently Professor of Architectural Project at the Architecture Faculty in Ljubljana.

Alfred de Locatelli

was born in Postojna (Slovenia) in 1960. After graduating from the State Institute of Art in Gorizia in pictorial decoration in 1987 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice in the decoration section. In the same year he obtained his diploma as a stylist at the Brenta Footwear Masters School in Stra (Ve). After various work in the field of design and decoration, he devoted himself to teaching. He currently teaches Modeling at the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. He has exhibited, as well as in Italy, in Austria and Slovenia.

Inside the classroom

From the deepening of the historical period and the Wunderkammer artistic-cultural phenomenon, up to its contamination with contemporary artistic influences. Students start from the idea expressed through some sketches on paper, to develop the functional and technical aspects of the project.

The complementary furnishing Alice is a sideboard with a canaletto walnut veneer and four conical wooden legs. Inside, on four sides, are 16 secret drawers where curiosities are stashed.
